About

Hi, I’m Michelle Wrighton, an AIPP Accredited internationally published photographer with a passion for capturing the essence of the pets, livestock and rural life that are my constant creative muse.

I started my creative career over 20 years ago as a pet portrait artist working also in traditional art mediums of charcoal, pencil, pastel, acrylics and oil paints, but photography quickly became my preferred medium to work in professionally.

I was born in Perth, Western Australia and grew up from infancy surrounded by dogs and horses at home and on the farm we visited frequently which nurtured my love for everything rural. In 2009, I fulfilled a lifelong dream when my family moved to our small farm in Boyup Brook where the Three Red Ponies pet photography studio is now located.

Dog, horse and rural photography has also been my speciality, but my work has also included children, family, equestrian and dog sporting event photography as well as editorial and commercial projects for international equine and livestock brands, local government and small business.

Inspired by the joy animals and the beauty that rural Australia bring to my world, my artwork can be found in private collections around Australia, New Zealand, England, Europe and throughout the United States and are now exclusively available as premium wall art here in the Three Red Ponies Wall Art Shop.

My unique cottage studio is the only one of its kind in Western Australia, offering both studio and outdoor pet photography for all types of pets and livestock. My services include private pet and livestock photography commissions, commercial photography and personal branding photography for pet, equine and rural businesses.
